Anyone who has been reading my blog over the last few months knows that I am passionate about natural hair. I knew intellectually that natural hair perceptions are not always positive. However, it did not register for me emotionally until a conversation I had with my mother several weeks ago about my baby sister’s chosen daily hairstyle. Others’ reactions to my natural hair have been extremely positive, even from individuals that at the time I thought may have a problem with it. So, the possibility that someone actually could feel negatively about my hair really didn’t hit home with me because it was not something I had experienced.
After the conversation with my mother, my inner scientist took charge; and I decided I needed to hear from others about their natural hair perceptions and experiences. As such, the Natural Hair Nysa Natural Hair Perceptions Survey was born! The survey is open to everyone . . . all skin tones, hair textures, genders, and ages. Basically, if you are human and breathing, then my mom and I would love to hear your feelings on the topic. Also, please share this survey to help us receive the best data possible. We will be collecting responses from August 1st through August 31st.
The survey is by default anonymous. However, if you wish to identify yourself, feel free to do so. We take our duty to protect your personal information very seriously. Read more about how we protect your data in our privacy policy.
Access the survey below. It should take just a few minutes to complete. Thank you in advance for your participation!
