Do you totally, absolutely, completely love your current conditioners for natural hair?  I guess for some naturals the answer would be “not quite”.  Finding the right products to condition natural hair usually involves some trial and error.  I am 3 years into my natural hair journey, and I am not in love with every conditioner in my beauty closet (and yes, it is an actual closet).

Having said that, I have found some staple products that I do absolutely love.  They have done wonders for my 4C hair by adding shine, protein, nutrients, and much needed moisture.  I rotate these conditioners for natural hair into my regimen on a regular basis, depending on what other treatments I am using and my needs at the moment.

So, the next time you are looking to try a new conditioning product in your regimen, check out the ones listed below. Frankly, I don’t know how I lived with my natural hair before I found these!

Conditioners for Natural Hair to Use in DIY Mixes

Aussie Mega Moist Conditioner – This conditioner has remained a staple in my regimen since the beginning of my hair regimen, which speaks to its ability to deliver results.  If you are looking to add real moisture to your hair, this product is for you.  Furthermore, it adds all that moisture without weighing down your hair.  It also helps that this product is relatively inexpensive.  As such, this is one of my go-to conditioners for natural hair when I mix my DIY pre-poo recipes that call for a commercial conditioner.

Trader Joes Tea Tree Tingle Conditioner – I first started using this product when I decided I wanted to add a tea tree oil component to my DIY deep conditioner.  I also use this as a regular conditioner when I shampoo with the Trader Joe’s Tea Tree Tingle Shampoo.  This conditioner adds that creamy consistency I love to my deep conditioner.  Additionally, the product lives up to the “tingle” present in its name.  You can actually feel it during the conditioning process.  It also contains peppermint, eucalyptus, and other botanicals.  These serve to rejuvenate and moisturize your hair.

Queen Helene Hair Conditioning Cream, Super Cholesterol – I was fortunate to find this gem about two years ago.  It is the bigger, better sister to the original.  After two years of improvement in the health of my hair, I no longer use this product in my weekly DIY deep conditioner.  However, I always have some on hand to use when I notice an increase in damaged ends or breakage.  It is enhanced with aloe vera gel (humectant) and keratin (the protein that makes up your hair strands) to give the cream some potency.

I primarily incorporate the abovementioned products into my DIY mixes.  Nevertheless, you can use these as standalone conditioners for natural hair and still achieve great results.

Regular Conditioners for Natural Hair

OGX Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil Conditioner – I use this conditioner when I wash my hair with its companion OGX Renewing Moroccan Argan Oil Shampoo.  This sulfate-free conditioner makes my hair feel soft and moisturized.  It also has nice slip.  So, I can use it to detangle while I am in the shower.  Moreover, it contains one of my favorite oils, argan.  Argan oil receives wide praise for its ability to help with split ends and tame the frizz.

Orlando Pita Argan Gloss Conditioner – While this product is fairly new to my closet, it has quickly become one of my favorites.  I use this one when I cleanse with the companion Orlando Pita Argan Gloss Shampoo.  This product has excellent slip for detangling.  In addition, the glossing ingredients in the conditioner have definitely added more shine to my hair.  It also contains my favorites list’s argan oil.  I have seen my best results all around with manageability and frizz reduction using this conditioner.

Deep Conditioners for Natural Hair

Arvazallia Fortifying Protein Hair Mask – If you are ready to address dry, damaged hair, this mask may just fit the bill.  This deep conditioning mask promotes growth of your natural hair and improves body, volume, and manageability.  I personally used this mask when my the protein treatment mask had been using was out of stock.  I was so satisfied with the results, I bought more!  This product supplies you with the protein needed to repair and facilitate stronger hair while hydrating and moisturizing.

Shea Moisture Intensive Hydration Masque – This product is my new love!  I purchased it on a whim a couple of months ago.  I must say I am extremely pleased with the results.  After using this product, my hair is very soft and moisturized.  I have an easier time managing my hair when I  switch styles mid-week (I only do this occasionally).  I also have noticed an excellent reduction in frizz.  In addition, this product boasts a top-notch ingredients list, including manuka honey and mafura oil.  When people currently ask me about which deep conditioners for natural hair I use, this one tops the list.

UPDATE – SHVYOG Keratin Hair Mask – Since natural hair care is all about finding what works for you, I picked up this deep conditioner because I wanted to try a hair mask with keratin, collagen, and biotin to nourish my natural hair.  I am glad I did!  Not only did my hair feel fed, it was also well moisturized and more manageable.  That’s not a huge surprise considering this mask contains argan, avocado, and coconut oils as part of its ingredients.
